Updating Hardware and Expanding Security

The computers used to administer Eden Temple and the Eden's Child programs have become extremally outdated and are unable to upgrade to the newest Windows 11 and Microsoft 365. The outdated software currently in use also does not allow for the proper cyber security and encryption of sensitive personal information. Despite the lower cost of most items in Rwanda, computers are the same or slightly higher than you could purchase in America. It was deemed necessary for a compete upgrade of all computers and install a secure network to protect sensitive data. The new system needed will utilize a mixture of desktop for the main centers and laptops for the remote villages visitations. A new network in the main Butare medical center will also be home to a new database and secure servers allowing shared data amongst all the Eden's Child coordinators in Rwanda and the United States.

What is Needed

A study was conducted and estimates were given from several local vendors. The costs to completely update and secure the new system is around $11,000. A donation from Crossroads Church purchased the first two computers and the development of the database has already begun between Eden Temple IT Manager Hastings Tugume and American Eden's Child coordinators. The additional funding needed will purchase additional computers, a server network in Butare, and Starlink internet connection for the Medical Center.
